Kaged Muscle Athlete Outdoors

Kaged Muscle Supplements are taking things to the next level this year!

In case you haven’t been following along, Kaged Muscle has been on fire lately. They’ve released a new product or new flavor nearly every week since the beginning of July, and Kaged Muscle fans can’t get enough! Even though the past few months have been extremely busy for the company, they’re about to heat up even more with the launch of Clean Burn Amped!

If you’re familiar with Kaged Muscle’s products, then Clean Burn probably sounds familiar. For years, it was their flagship fat burner. While Clean Burn did extremely well, Brian Rand and Kris Gethin decided it was time for an upgrade. If you compare the original version’s label to Clean Burn Amped’s, the difference is night and day.

Clean Burn is a non-stimulant thermogenic and appetite suppressant that’s formulated with five main ingredients: ChroMate, CarniPure, green tea extract, Gymnema sylvestre, and Capsimax. While it’s a solid combination of ingredients for boosting fat loss, decreasing appetite, and increasing caloric expenditure, Kaged Muscle wanted to kick things up a notch, so Clean Burn Amped was born.

Clean Burn Amped Ingredient Analysis

Each bottle of Clean Burned Amped has 60 capsules. With a recommended serving size of two capsules per day, one tub will last a month. But for even faster results, Kaged Muscle suggests taking two capsules at breakfast and two capsules with lunch.

Clean Burn Amped contains a fair amount of caffeine, so it’s best to avoid taking it within four to five hours prior to sleep. Rest and recovery are just as important for fat loss as a proper diet and training program — so don’t skip out on your sleep!

Here’s what one serving (two capsules) of Clean Burn Amped contains:

Clean Burn Amped Matrix – 638mg

  • Caffeine (as PurCaf caffeine from organic green coffee bean) – 248mg

Kaged Muscle Clean Burn Amped Ingredients

Clean Burn Amped is packed with four trademarked ingredients at great dosages!

If you’ve taken other Kaged Muscle products, such as Pre-Kaged or In-Kaged, then you know that Kris Gethin is a huge advocate of PurCaf, and for a good reason! PurCaf, developed by Applied Food Sciences, is a form of caffeine derived from organic green coffee beans.[1]

PurCaf is standardized to contain at least 95% caffeine and is water-soluble, Non-GMO Project Verified, self-determined GRAS (generally recognized as safe), certified organic, and has a neutral taste profile.[1] Anecdotally, natural caffeine provides a smooth, steady, and sustained rise in energy, as opposed to synthetic forms of caffeine that boost energy quickly but drop off just as fast. That’s one of the major reasons why Kaged Muscle chose PurCaf over other caffeine sources. They even sell the ingredient as a standalone product.

In regards to weight loss, caffeine is one of the most popular ingredients in fat burners and thermogenic products because it’s incredibly effective at boosting mental and physical energy, suppressing appetite, and enhancing heat production.[2,3] Caffeine also raises energy levels through the inhibition of adenosine and phosphodiesterase.[2,3]

Adenosine is a nucleoside that causes a down regulation in neural activity when it binds to its receptor, resulting in fatigue.[2,3] Phosphodiesterase is an enzyme that breaks down a secondary messenger called cAMP (cyclic adenosine monophosphate).[2,3]

cAMP plays a role in lipid and carbohydrate metabolism because it puts the body in an optimal environment to burn fat for fuel.[4] So keeping levels of cAMP elevated are ideal for fat loss. Not only can you burn more fat because you’ll have more energy to exercise, but even at rest caffeine up-regulates metabolism.[4] Furthermore, the appetite-suppressing effects of caffeine also help control hunger throughout the day.[4]

  • Svetol Green Coffee Bean Extract (Coffea canephora) (std. to 45% total cholinergic acids) – 200mg

Svetol, also known as Coffea canephora, is a trademarked form of green coffee bean extract. It’s standardized to contain at least 45% of its main bioactive constituent, cholinergic acid.[5] Therefore, out of a 200 milligram dose, you’re getting 90 milligrams of the active compound. Svetol was developed by Naturex and calls it “your natural partner for healthy weight management.”[5] It’s a natural, safe, and effective solution for helping you lose fat and if you stay consistent, you could keep it off for good.

    Svetol Logo

Svetol consists of decaffeinated green coffee beans that seem to express some potent thermogenic properties.

Svetol is produced by sourcing 100% premium green coffee beans, decaffeinating the beans, then extracting and concentrating the active ingredients.[5] Raw beans retain their rich concentration of beneficial bioactive compounds, which is one of the main reasons researchers believe Svetol is so effective.[5]

Multiple studies have shown that Svetol aids in body mass reduction, regulates blood glucose levels, and increases fat loss. At the same time, it helps retain lean muscle mass.[5,6] One study in particular, from 2014, found that the cholinergic acid content in Svetol had potent lipolytic activity, despite containing no caffeine.[6]

  • Green Select Phytosome (Green tea [Camellia sinensis] leaf extract (std. to 19-25% polyphenols (28-38mg) min. 13% EGCG (19mg) and sunflower lecithin) – 150mg

Green Select Phytosome is a green tea leaf extract standardized to contain between 19 to 25% polyphenols and 13% EGCG. Thus, out of a 150 milligram dose, users get anywhere from 28 to 38 milligram of polyphenols and at least 19 milligrams of EGCGs.

One of the most comprehensive greens powders on the market!

Green tea extract is known its rich antioxidant content, which provides several benefits beyond weight loss.[7] Antioxidants protect cells from oxidative damage induced by free radicals — unstable molecules produced in the body that can latch onto healthy cells and destroy their DNA, mitochondria, and membrane.

In the context of weight loss, green tea extract is a popular inclusion for supplements geared toward increasing fat burn. Studies show that supplementing with green tea extract alongside a hypocaloric diet helps facilitate weight loss.[8] However, not all green tea extract is created equal. Green select Phytosome is a trademarked ingredient known for its superior bioavailability, thanks to the addition of lecithin. It helps the body uptake and utilize the green tea extract better than other forms.[9]

Studies with Greenselect Phytosome green tea extract have reported significant weight loss for participants, decreased body mass index and waistline circumference, along with improved blood lipid profiles.[8,9] Researchers attribute these positive effects to the catechin content found in green tea extract.[9] EGCG, in particular, expresses potent thermogenic properties. Other studies note a synergistic effect between green tea and caffeine.[9]

  • Grains of Paradise Seed Extract (Aframomum melegueta) (std. to 12.5% 6-Paradol) (as CaloriBurn GP) – 40mg

Ever since NNB Nutrition’s CaloriBurn GP came onto the market, we’ve seen several well-known brands use it in their products. Some companies even offer it as a standalone product, which only highlights its power.

But what makes CaloriBurn so special?

    NNB Nutrition CaloriBurn

Grains of Paradise, also known as Aframomum melegueta, is a cooking spice that’s been around for thousands of years. It’s especially known for packing heat. When taken in adequate quantities, though, it can boost users ability to burn fat. Unfortunately, finding a high-quality GP extract is incredibly difficult and those that are out there are typically expensive.

The vast majority of ingredients that claim to be GP are actually just raw ginger extracts with added 6-paradol.[10,11] It’s one of the main reasons we recommend CaloriBurn, because you know exactly what you’re getting. Through rigorous research and development, NNB Nutrition demonstrates that CaloriBurn is a pure and unadulterated GP extract.[10,11]

GP contains several bioactive constituents, including 6-gingerol, 6-paradol, and 6-shogaol. NNB Nutrition standardized CaloriBurn to 12.5% 6-paradol because that’s the primary compound attributed to GP’s thermogenic effects.[10,11] And the other constituents mentioned above provide even more benefits.[10,11]

Research shows that GP facilitates the conversion of white adipose tissue (WAT) to brown adipose tissue (BAT), which is ideal for fat loss since WAT refers to stored fat and BAT is much more metabolically active.[12,13] As a result, the body can burn more calories throughout the day and it’s much easier to sustain fat loss.[12,13]

Water Balance Matrix – 50mg

  • Asparagus (Asparagus officinalis) Stem Extract – 20mg

If you’ve ever seen a bodybuilder or physique competitor’s diet one to two weeks out from a show, more likely than not the only vegetable they’re consuming is asparagus! That’s because asparagus is a natural diuretic, meaning it helps out flush excess water and gives them a more “dry” appearance.

    We are Kaged

    We are Kaged.

Asparagus stem extract, also known as Asparagus officinalis, is rich in antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, fiber, and very low in calories. Unfortunately, not a ton of research has been conducted on its effect as a diuretic. One study from 2010 does identify some diuretic activity, but so far that’s the only available evidence.[14] One current theory is that asparagus contains a considerable amount of an amino acid called asparagine, which is linked to increased urination.

Beyond enhancing water-weight loss, preliminary studies have shown that asparagus stem extract can protect cells against UV-induced sun damage.[15] The same studies also note that the compound expresses neuroprotective effects.[15] So the ingredient has other well-established benefits.

  • Juniper (Juniperus communis) Fruit Extract – 15mg

Juniper fruit extract, also known as Juniperus communis, is an evergreen shrub that’s rich in beneficial compounds, such as resins, catechins, alkaloids, flavonoids, organic acid, and terpenic acids.[16] It’s native to parts of Asia, Europe, and North America.[16] Juniper has traditionally been used in Turkish medicine as a diuretic, antiseptic, and to treat gastrointestinal issues.[16]

Studies report that juniper fruit extract possesses potent diuretic, anti-diabetic, anti-inflammatory, anti-arthritic, antiseptic, antibacterial, antifungal, and antiviral properties.[16] A meta-analysis from 2019 noted that the extract can increase urinary output without affecting electrolyte levels.[16]

This is a key finding because several other diuretic compounds will cause users to lose a significant amount of electrolytes, which can negatively affect performance. The same study reported that juniper’s diuretic properties are attributed to its terpinene-4-ol and hydrophilic constituents, which increases glomerular filtration rate in the kidneys.[16]

  • Parsley (Petroselinum crispum) Leaf Powder – 10mg

Petroselinum crispum, commonly known as parsley leaf powder, has been used as a diuretic in traditional folk medicine. Research is underway to determine its mechanism of action.

    Kaged Muscle Kris Gethin Product

Kris Gethin is changing the industry by creating the highest quality products on the market.

A study from 2002 analyzed the effect of parsley leaf powder on urinary output and electrolyte levels in mice.[17] Researchers found that parsley leaf powder supplementation led to a significant increase in urinary volume. They attributed this effect to the plant’s ability to enhance potassium retention within the lumen of the kidneys.[17] Ultimately, the researchers noted that parsley inhibited the sodium-potassium pump, resulting in a diuretic effect and reduced sodium and potassium reabsorption.[17]

Other preliminary studies have shown that parsley boosts urinary volume, reduces calcium excretion, increases acid levels in urine, and may decrease the risk of developing kidney stones.[18] While research on asparagus seems promising, we’d prefer seeing more studies in humans before suggesting that parsley is an effective diuretic.

  • Uva Ursi (Arctostaphylos uva-ursi) Leaf Extract – 5mg

Uva ursi, also known as bearberry, is a plant that, historically, has been used in Native American medicinal practices to treat urinary tract infections (UTIs).[19] It turns out that the plant contains a multitude of chemical compounds, including tannins, arbutin, and hydroquinone, which are attributed to uva ursi’s antibacterial properties.[19]

Arbutin, in particular, is the main bioactive constituent in the plant. It produces a metabolite called hydroquinone glucuronide that prevents bacteria from adhering to urinary tract tissues.[19] While some early research reported that uva ursi possesses diuretic properties,[20] those studies were conducted in mice. So more research in humans is needed.
