Ghost Burn Black Welchs

New formula, authentic flavor collabs, what more could you want!

In previous years, Ghost has done some big things in the industry with exclusive flavor collaborations, fully transparent labels, and releasing fantastic products. 2020 is going to be no different, as they look to innovate, improve pre-existing formulas, and expand their reach and product line. PricePlow has always been a huge fan of what Ghost is doing and that makes us even more excited to see what’s in store next.

Every week, Ghost drops a new YouTube video giving you an inside look on what they’re working on, including upcoming product launches, warehouse tours, taste testing, and the popular ‘mail time’!

In the video shown below, the owners of Ghost, Dan Lourenço and Ryan Hughes, explain the key differences between Ghost Burn and Ghost Burn Black:

Ghost Burn BLACK: Two New Ingredients, Two New Flavors

Last year, Ghost re-launched their fat burner as a powder instead of a capsule and switched the name from Infrared to Ghost Burn. Changing their fat burner into a powder was a great choice, because it allows for a larger serving size, more ingredients, and customization, so you can decide how much ‘burn’ you want to feel. With the new Burn v2 powered by NNB Nutrition’s CaloriBurn grains of paradise, Ghost Burn is extremely effective at helping you reach your weight loss goals faster by increasing energy, metabolism, and mood, while reducing stress and appetite.

Ghost Burn Black: Limited Edition, Added Benefits

Ghost Burn Black Hype Graphic

Will Ghost Burn Black be your new favorite thermogenic? Only one way to find out…

In 2020, and once again in 2022, Ghost decided it’s time to run a modified version of Burn and include new flavors to see what GNC customers think. Burn Black came out for a limited time at GNC and on Ghost’s website, and sold out very quickly, so it’s been re-launched by popular demand.

Once again, it’s available in two flavors that aren’t available in the regular Burn — Pineapple and Welch’s Grape Juice.

In this post we discuss the changes to the formula so you know exactly what to expect. Read our original Ghost Burn article to compare the formulas and see the rest of the breakdown on the ingredients. Ghost Burn Special Edition Formula

As mentioned above, some new ingredients and a few modifications are here with Ghost Burn Black. First we’ll list everything that’s the same and then dig into the exciting additions!

As always with Ghost, the label is fully transparent, it lists a 1 or 2 scoop serving size so you can assess your tolerance and still know exactly how much of each ingredient you’re getting. However, the serving size has increased slightly to 16.5g for a full two scoop serving instead of 14.5g in the original Ghost Burn.

Here’s the ingredient list and dosages for a full serving (16.5g) of Ghost Burn Black:

Ingredients that remained the same:

  • Ghost Burn Black Welch's Ingredients

New additions, even more burn! Grab Ghost Burn Black while you can!

    L-Carnitine Tartrate – 1.5g

  • Acetyl-L-Carnitine – 1.5g

  • Choline Bitartrate – 1g

  • KSM-66Ⓡ Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera) Root Extract – 600mg

  • L-Tyrosine – 500mg

  • Cocoa Bean (Theobroma cacao) Seed extract (20% Theobromine) – 100mg (Yielding 20mg)

  • NeuroFactor Coffee (Coffea arabica) Fruit extract – 100mg

  • Grains of Paradise (Aframomum melegueta) Seed extract (std. To 12% 6-paradol) – 40mg

If you want a full break down of each of these ingredients, check out our original Ghost Burn Product Breakdown. Now let’s move on to what’s so special about Ghost Burn Black!

New Additions to Ghost Burn Black:

  • Garcinia Cambogia (60% Hydroxycitric Acid) – 1.5g

    Ghost Burn Black Logo

Limited edition, once it’s gone, it’s gone.

The first addition to the special edition of Ghost Burn Black, is Garcinia Cambogia, also called Malabar tamarind. It’s a tropical fruit that is commonly found in India and Southeast Asia. Over the years it’s been widely used in several weight loss products since it contains a high amount of hydroxycitric acid (HCA).

Despite any outlandish claims you may have heard, HCA from Garcinia works very well for appetite suppression, increasing fat oxidation, and greater fat loss.[1-3] The original formula didn’t have anything to specifically tackle appetite, but some people still noticed reduced hunger from the other ingredients. Garcinia is sure to help you with any hunger pangs you may notice while trying to lose fat! This is a great dose to get all the benefits from this ingredient!

  • Natural Caffeine – 300mg

    Ghost Burn Black Pineapple

Can this tropical flavor cover up the spice?!

The original Ghost Burn contains 300mg of caffeine anhydrous to get you energized, however the new Ghost Burn Black utilizes the same dose but of natural caffeine.

Why the change? Two main reasons Ghost decided to switch the caffeine source was to create a more global compliant formula and the natural caffeine provides more of a smooth, sustained increase in energy. Caffeine anhydrous is the synthetic form of caffeine found in several supplements, and although it works extremely well, for some people it hits them a little too hard, giving them anxiety and the jitters. Natural caffeine works just as well, but may help keep you energized for longer without the side effects commonly seen with a high dose of caffeine.

Overall, we are happy with the switch and think it will be better for more people, especially those with a lower caffeine tolerance.

  • Gamma-Butyrobetaine Ethyl Ester (GBB) – 50mg

    Get ready to start sweating!

GBB is naturally a part of our carnitine production process… when we take it… we get more carnitine and its effects!

Gamma-Butyrobetaine Ethyl Ester (GBB), also called γ-butyrobetaine in research, is an ingredient that you can really feel, because it increases sweating and thermogenesis quickly! Dan from Ghost is a big fan of this ingredient and loves to take it right before a big training session. It helps you get warmed up and in the zone much faster.

Increased sweating is not all GBB can do to help with fat loss, the main benefits come from increasing carnitine levels in the body.[4] GBB works by acting as an intermediate that the body can convert to L-carnitine via an enzyme called Gamma-butyrobetaine dioxygenase (BBD).[5] Increased carnitine levels are very beneficial, because it acts a shuttle for fatty acids to enter the mitochondria and be used for energy.[6] Therefore, greater fat oxidation can yield more energy and fat loss.

The original Ghost Burn doesn’t contain this ingredient, so it will be interesting to see what people think about the new addition.

  • AstraGinⓇ – 50mg

    AstraGin

AstraGin is a combination of Astragalus and Panax Notoginseng that’s been shown to increase ingredient absorption, especially of amino acids!

The original Ghost Burn uses Bioperine (black pepper extract) to help in absorption and bioavailability of the ingredients, with this new formula Ghost decided to use AstraginⓇ instead which is a blend of two plant extracts, Astragalus membranaceus and Panax notoginseng. This is a patented ingredient from NuLiv Science that’s designed to help increase absorption of several ingredients such as amino acids, creatine, vitamins and minerals, and other key nutrients.[7] AstraginⓇ is highly effective and Ghost includes it in various other products, because it simply works!

    • Ghost Partners with NuLiv Science!

What’s even more exciting is that Ghost just recently announced they exclusively partnered with NuLiv Science to do more research assessing the effects of AstraGin combined with Choline and Carnitine to see if how much it can increase their absorption. It’s really great to see such a massive company like Ghost get invest in research to move the industry forward.

Ghost has understood the power of AstraGin for a long time and you’ll see it in several of their products, but having more studies that specifically look at certain ingredient will help everyone formulate better supplements. We can’t stress the importance of bioavailability enough, because regardless of what product you take, it’s not effective if you body lacks the ability to utilize it. Absorption truly makes or breaks an ingredient. More details will be coming soon and PricePlow will make sure you stay up to date on the newest research!

Ghost Burn V2

Ghost Burn v2 used a better grains of paradise extract — CaloriBurn GP from NNB Nutrition!

Available Flavors:

Below you’ll find an updated list of Ghost Burn Black’s Flavors:

As you’ll notice, there are two new flavors never used in the original Burn formula: Welch’s Grape Juice and Pineapple! We’re unsure if these will ever show up in the original Burn formula (they didn’t come out after two years, so it doesn’t seem like it), but we are huge fans of Ghost Amino in Welch’s flavor and can’t wait to see what it’s like with some extra spice!

Final Remarks: Ghost Burn Black, Get it Before it’s Gone!

There’s nothing Ghost loves more than fitness, Nike Air Max sneakers, and crushing some cereal while playing Tony Hawk in the office. So if you look at the new Ghost Burn Black label and it reminds you of your favorite shoes, you know why.

    Ghost Air Max Day

Ghost’s favorite holiday, Air Max Day.

It was inspired by one of Ryan’s favorite Air Max designs, and every year on March 26th, the legends celebrate their top unofficial holiday, Air Max Day. This time they want all the legends that support them to celebrate the day with them by releasing Ghost Burn Black! The new additions to this formula will really amplify the feel, effectiveness, and results. But as we mentioned, it’s only around for a limited time so don’t miss out!

It may come back in the future, depending on your feedback, however we can’t promise that! Ghost is always looking for feedback and ways to improve their products. Just like you, the Ghost Fam never settles on good enough, they want the best! Ghost Burn Black is going to be another home run, especially with the new flavors! They have a lot more in store for the rest of 2020, so make sure to stay tuned to PricePlow, because we will be the first to let you know!
