Dedicated Nutrition Brings an UNSTOPPABLE Gym Experience

The invasion has begun. After years of waiting, Dedicated Nutrition is finally here on the shores of America. Prepare to meet their beachhead attack: Unstoppable.

Dedicated Nutrition Unstoppable

Does this pre workout live up to its name? At 211.5mg caffeine, it’s going to have to bring in the supporting infantry to amp up the workouts!

At long last, Canadian powerhouse Dedicated Nutrition is finally available in the United States! Previously available only internationally, this brand has run circles around the competition around the globe — especially in Europe — but waited until the perfect moment to attack from the north.

In fall of 2014, we reviewed the Unstoppable pre workout supplement, stating that “Dedicated Nutrition’s Unstoppable lives up to its name”. The formula and branding have changed, but the attitude has not. Dedicated Nutrition is here and they’re here to compete.

Led by superstar athlete Simeon Panda, if Dedicated’s statements are true, Unstoppable may be one of the must-try pre workout supplements of 2018. The demand has always been there — who doesn’t want a pre-workout that will give sleeve-bursting pumps, competitive temperament, increased strength, enhanced focus, and unstoppable energy?!

Dedicated Nutrition is making some bold claims with Unstoppable, stating that the company’s pre-workout is “the ultimate muscle performance product on the planet.” Of course, when Simeon Panda is the face of the company, you can expect some big promises.

Let’s learn why, but first, make sure you check PricePlow’s coupon-powered prices and sign up for Dedicated Nutrition news alerts, because this is only the beginning:

The Unstoppable Ingredients: Dedicated Nutrition Promises to Keep it Advanced and New

Take note, the team is promising new ingredients in Unstoppable that have never been seen before. For many of us, this is a great thing, as we’re always looking for new ways to enhance our workouts. But for others, they’ll want to do some research to see what we’re dealing with here – and we’ve laid it out for you below.

Now let us go into the unknown, with claims of added strength, pump, endurance, focus, drive, and energy “beyond what you thought would even be possible.”

Starting with the quick list (30 servings, 10.5g scoop size):

  • L-Citruline (3000mg)
  • Betaine Nitrate as NO3-T (1500mg)
  • Glycerol Monostearate (1000mg)
  • Simeon Panda

The Unstoppable Simeon Panda is the face of Dedicated Nutrition

    Agmatine Sulfate (750mg)
  • Theacrine, as TeaCrine 40% (250mg)
  • Caffeine Anhydrous (175mg)
  • Rhodiola Rosea Extract (150mg)
  • Hordenine (75mg)
  • AstraGin (50mg)
  • DiCaffeine Malate (50mg)
  • Theobromine (50mg)
  • Synephrine HCl (30mg)
  • Huperzine A 1% (10mg)
  • Alpha Yohimbine (Rauwolscine 90%) (2mg)

Total Caffeine Content: 211.5mg

Catch your breath after reading that list and let’s break these ingredients down!

  • L-Citrulline (3000mg)

    Dedicated Nutrition Unstoppable Ingredients

With caffeine supported by six other stimulatory compounds, this is going to be a very unique feel… but that last ingredient at the bottom, Alpha-Yohimbine, is going to be the question mark here.

You know we love our straight citrulline! Listed as the first major ingredient, this is the first step down an Unstoppable, “pump-filled” road. Arguably the most well-known nitric oxide booster at this point, Unstoppable packs a respectable 3g dose.

Citrulline drives nitric oxide uptake during high-intensity exercise, and it actually works by converting into L-arginine first — but this nitric oxide pathway is a much more efficient means to accomplish that end,[1] rather than taking straight L-arginine itself, which ultimately doesn’t work for NO purposes, even in higher doses.[2]

  • Betaine Nitrate as NO3-T (1500mg)

Patented by ThermoLife International, Betaine Nitrate is a hybrid ingredient that combines the power boosting benefits of betaine with the nitric oxide elevating properties of nitrates. It’s always great when you can get an effective muscle builder as the “bonus” amino acid bound to the nitrate – but here we’re most excited about the pumps.

Nitrates act as potent vasodilators in the body,[4] which help to lower blood pressure and increase blood flow to your muscles.[5] Nitrate supplementation will drop the body’s consumption of oxygen during exercise, which in turn will lead to improved gym, sport performance and improved energy efficiency.[6]

Meanwhile, Betaine is a metabolite of choline and has recently become a staple addition for many quality pre-workouts. When dosed at 2.5g or more, it has been shown to increase an individual’s power output, increase endurance, and aid with the production of creatine in the body and reduces muscle soreness![3] We know we’re definitely not getting that dose here, but it’s still beneficial. It’s the nitrates we’re really after.

We are always impressed by this two-headed ingredient!

  • Glycerol Monostearate (1000mg)

    Dedicated Nutrition Branding

We aren’t so sure why Dedicated went with Glycerol Monostearate instead of more advanced options, but we are sure Americans will love this company’s branding

Unstoppable got the old school treatment with this one: Glycerol is included in a large number of sports supplements and years back, this form — glycerol monostearate (GMS) — was primarily used. GMS is composed of glycerol and stearic acid, which only about 25% at most, consists of actual glycerol.[7]

Much of the market has moved to silica-bound forms of glycerol, because GMS has a few issues when dosed high. Due to its high fat content, it doesn’t really dissolve as well as users would prefer, and it often clumps in the cups and shakers. It also has less shelf stability (due to its hygroscopic nature — it attracts water), giving it a shorter shelf life.[8]

While we love glycerol, this is an area for potential improvement, as the limitations of glycerol monostearate leave you at just 250mg of actual glycerol. Considering this makes up almost 10% of the entire scoop, don’t be surprised if you experience some minor clumping or small chunks when opening up a tub of Unstoppable.

  • Agmatine Sulfate (750mg)

Another pump ingredient, Agmatine helps manage nitric oxide (NO) synthesis, which in turns leads to greater pumps. It does this by inhibiting nitric oxide synthase, which limits your nitric oxide. So, you limit the nitric oxide killer and get more of the good stuff for increased blood flow and nutrient delivery!

    Agmatine and Arginine

Agmatine is similar to arginine, but WAY better, in our opinions!

Agmatine also uniquely serves as a neuromodulator and neurotransmitter, to aid in the management of the Central Nervous System. Some get a slightly higher pain threshold because of this! Agmatine is a tried and true ingredient and works very synergistically with the other ingredients in Unstoppable, and we enjoy seeing it “play defense” alongside other NO enhancers that “play offense”.

  • Theacrine, as TeaCrine (250mg, 40% = 100mg active)

Stimulant time! TeaCrine is a patented from of theacrine sold by Compound Solutions. It is a methyluric acid that usually provides long-lasting energy and exceptional focus. As a stand-alone ingredient, it offers decent benefit but when used in conjunction with caffeine (like it is here), it’s focus-boosting qualities are definitely amplified.[9]

Dedicated Nutrition has thankfully decided to use the “tasteless” version of TeaCrine for Unstoppable. Because this form is 40% theacrine by weight, that means you’re only getting 40% of the value listed in the ingredients panel. So, in each serving of Unstoppable, you’ll get 100mg of theacrine, which is where we start getting really noticeable effects.

With this so well-dosed, the caffeine content doesn’t need to be absurd:

  • Caffeine Anhydrous (175mg)

    #IAmDedicated

Follow Dedicated Nutrition fans worldwide with #IamDedicated

Arguably the most proven performance-enhancing ingredient, caffeine should need no introduction here. While this is not the entirety of Unstoppable’s caffeine dosage (there’s a bit more coming from the dicaffeine malate that will leave us around 211mg total), this is the most of it, and that makes Unstoppable a relatively low-caffeine product!

Caffeine is perhaps the best thing you can take for energy on a diet or for performance enhancement for a multitude of reasons. It can increase your metabolic rate throughout the day, which may allow you to burn a few more calories and gives an almost immediate increase in energy.[10]

Again, the dosing in Unstoppable is fairly low, considering this is a preworkout supplement, so it will be up to the other stimulants (like theacrine, hordenine, and alpha-yohimbine) and adaptogens (like rhodiola) to pull up the rear:

  • Rhodiola Rosea Extract (150mg standardized for 10% salidrosides)

Rhodiola Rosea extract is a common remedy used to reduce stress and anxiety, but also elevate mood and natural energy, which makes this an excellent addition to a pre-workout compound. This extract is a popular adaptogen that can improve your body’s response to common stressors and unexpected anxiety episodes that we may encounter. As an adaptogen, it helps “regulate” various hormone levels, bringing things to equilibrium — things that are down come back up, and systems that are too high come back down.

    Rhodiola Rosea

Rhodiola Rosea: Our favorite feel-good herb with some additional workout boosting properties. Dedicated is going after the stimulatory salidrosides here.

Making this an event more potent addition to Unstoppable, it does offers some nootropic benefits as well, particularly with respect to cognitive function, memory, and offsetting mental fatigue.[11] At a fairly strong standardization of 10% salidrosides, this should aid users to zone out their problems outside of the gym, to take care of their training without any distractions.

We normally see rhodiola extracted for rosavins, but given that this one’s standardized for salidrosides, which may have a small stimulatory effect as well as neuroprotective action, so there could be something here Dedicated Nutrition knows!

  • Hordenine HCl (75mg)

Generally an unknown ingredient, Hordenine works on multiple angles, but first and foremost, it may be able to help you burn body fat! That’s because it’s a strong beta-2 adrenergic receptor agonist and can free fatty acids in your body to be used as a fuel source.

In addition, Hordenine acts as an MAO inhibitor.[12] By inhibiting MAO enzymes, hordenine prolongs the mood-elevating PEA compounds which can lead to an increased sense of wellness, mood, and generally better feelings![13] Unfortunately, there are no other PEA-style compounds in Unstoppable for it to help alongside, so we’re likely here for the beta-2 adrenergic response.

    Stay Dedicated

    Stay Dedicated.

Dosed at 75mg, Unstoppable packs nearly 50% more than most supplements, since we normally see this stimulant at 50mg.

  • AstraGin, as Astragulus and Panax Notoginseng Extract (50mg)

AstraGin is a patented ingredient from NuLivScience whose effects have been shown to increase the absorption of other ingredients, including amino acids like citrulline and agmatine, both of which are provided here.

It may even increase ATP production, boost energy metabolism, and limit the death of cells in your body![14] But the real reason it’s here is because of the absorption enhancement for the other ingredients.

  • DiCaffeine Malate (50mg, provides 36.5mg caffeine)

Adding to its already present caffeine, Dedicated Nutrition has included an additional source of caffeine in the form of dicaffeine malate. This sustained-release form of caffeine provides smoother, longer-lasting energy than anhydrous which means you’re getting the best of both worlds rather than a standard single caffeine source approach. This can help users with an eased approach into stimulus, rather than single blast of caffeine.

DiCaffeine Malate contains 73% caffeine by weight, which means you’re getting another 36.5mg of caffeine and ratcheting up the total caffeine content of Unstoppable to 211.5mg – definitely on the low scale these days!

  • Theobromine (50mg)

    Dedicated Nutrition Unstoppable Simeon Panda

The Unstoppable pumps begin kicking in for Simeon Panda

Theobromine is a “secondary” stimulant and found in coffee beans. It has a similar structure to caffeine, but it is far less strong in terms of stimulatory effects. Theobromine can work as a mild fat burner, giving a smooth and less jittery experience as opposed to other stimulants.[15] This is a neat addition to Unstoppable, offering some unique fat burning properties in addition to a strong pump and stimulant experience.

With Theacrine, rhodiola, dicaffeine malate, hordenine, and now theobromine, it’s quite clear that Dedicated Nutrition took the route of trying to work around caffeine instead of going all-in with a huge energy rush, thus avoiding a crash situation.

  • Synephrine HCl (30mg)

Synephrine is another beta agonist and has similar properties in Hordenine HCl, as mentioned earlier, yet seems to be stronger. Commonly found in Bitter Orange, synephrine has a similar structure to that of ephedrine. The key differences are that Synephrine has been proved to be milder (and thus more safely tolerated) compared to ephedrine at similar doses.[16]

Acting as both a Beta-2 and Beta-3 adrenergic receptor agonist, synephrine also frees stored fatty acids in the body and signals for them to be released into your bloodstream (again, similar to Hordenine).[17] We know this process as lipolysis via beta-oxidation, which is what we call the process where the body burns fat for energy and spare glycogen stores (if stored glycogen is present in the muscles or liver) for intense exercise.

  • Huperzine A 1% (10mg, yielding 100mcg)

    Dedicated Nutrition Motivation

Get your daily dose at @DedicatedNutrition

Adding to its focus components, Unstoppable added 10mg of Huperzia Serrata, standardized to 1% Huperzine A, giving us 100mcg.

Huperzine A is becoming popular across the Nootropic community, due to its memory boosting effects. It prevents the breakdown of acetylcholine, which is a key memory boosting compound that we often know and refer to as, the “learning neurotransmitter”.

We often see this paired with an acetylcholine-boosting ingredient (as in some form of choline), but in Unstoppable, it runs standalone.

  • Alpha-Yohimbine (Rauwolscine) 90% (2mg, yielding 1.8mg Alpha-Y)

Here we go… Dedicated Nutrition saved the “make-it-or-break-it” ingredient for last!

Rauwolscine is a powerful plant alkaloid that functions as a mega CNS stimulant. It’s a diastereomer of regular yohimbine which is a fancy term for saying it’s an “alternative” form of yohimbine, hence its name Alpha-Yohimbine.

    Dedicated Nutrition Women

Thanks to a non-absurd amount of caffeine alongside this alpha-yohimbine, some women have fallen in love with Unstoppable’s mesmerizing effects

Rauwolscine is classified as an alpha-2 antagonist, which inhibits the stimulation of alpha-2 receptors. Think of Basically, Alpha Yohimbine acts indirectly to promote fat loss fat loss, by stopping the body from creating new and additional fat cells. It’s a fat-storage preventer!

Research has shown that rauwolscine acts as an agonist of 5-HT1a/b receptors, which can cause the body to stimulate serotonin-like effects.[19],[20]

Because of that and as we have covered in former reviews, Alpha Yohimbine can also improve your overall mood and sense of wellness…

BUT. There’s always a but. Too much can cause side effects, such as anxiety or even “cold sweats” in some individuals. And this 1.8mg dose is right on the cusp for many users.

So in an otherwise-interesting, lower-caffeine formula, it comes down to this single ingredient.

Other stuff on the label

Each serving being a single 10.5g scoop. This supplement has:

  • 10 calories
  • 3g of carbs
  • 50mg of Vitamin C
  • 29mg of calcium (2%)
  • and 50mg of sodium (2%)

The calories here are hardly worth tracking but if you are on a carb-cutting diet, than it’s worth noting the 3g of carbs. The question is where they come from – and we’re thinking it’s a combination of the glycerol alongside the flavor system.

The minerals aren’t really worth noticing, they’re just there from the flavor system’s fillers (calcium silicate and trisodium citrate).

Final Thoughts on The US Version of Unstoppable

Dedicated Unstoppable US

Unstoppable has made it to the US. Will it work with today’s American tastes?

Unstoppable is a low-caffeine alternative to all of the insanely high-caffeinated pre workouts here. Dedicated Nutrition goes through a serious effort to keep the caffeine crash low, with a plethora of other stimulants and adaptogens around it.

What you’re left with is a concentrated pre workout supplement that should provide some feel good performance, a few fat burning properties, increased mood and feeling of wellness, added energy and stamina, and some unsuspecting pumps!

The ultimate review comes down to a single ingredient, right there at the end — alpha yohimbine. If 1.8mg of the powerful ingredient is too much for you, then this is going to throw the equation out of whack. But if you’re looking for a way to keep caffeine low yet enjoy all of the “other” stimulants, than we have a solid pre workout for you here.

We can’t say that we have ever seen a pre-workout quite like this. Gone are the days of “Ampheta-Tea” ingredients, but we’re definitely excited that this product is finally available in the U.S. and you will need to check our YouTube channel for our review!
