Cellucor Protein Bars are Here… It’s About Time!

As you may have noticed, we’ve been covering a lot of protein bars lately. Part of this is that the market’s growing and users don’t have always have time to cook a high protein snack and always need a quick option on the go. The other part stems from the fact that a lot of big boys around the industry have seen opportunity, with the slipping of quality in industry favorites Quest Bars and overnight success of Oh Yeah! ONE Bars.

Cellucor COR-Sports Protein Bar PB

Cellucor has FINALLY released a protein bar, titled COR-Sports Protein Bar, that will be available in 4 flavors.

Blood is indeed in the protein bar market waters, and that means one of the industry’s biggest sharks is now on the hunt.

Cellucor joins the ranks of other industry top dogs like Controlled Labs (Venture Bars) and BPI (Best Protein Bar) who have recently released their own unique spin on the popular protein packed snack. Cor-Sport Protein Bar is long overdue, but that we expect that this means that the industry’s taste experts at Cellucor were working on perfection.

Cellucor Cor-Sport Protein Bar Nutrition Facts

Thanks to Stack3d, the protein bars now have a nutrition facts label. We’re not sure what flavor this is:

Cellucor Protein Bars

The nutrition facts, as leaked by Stack3d. Not sure what flavor this is

So the macros are:

  • Calories: 250
  • Protein: 20g
  • Total Fat: 9g (3.5g saturated)
  • Carbs: 26g (10g fiber, 8g sugar)

Given these macros, we’re looking at bars that should taste very good, because Cellucor’s clearly not going for the cleanest bars in town. They’re higher in fats and carbs, yet lower in fiber, so it’s not going to be a pure VitaFiber-based solution.

Although we can’t make out the macros and ingredients yet, we do know COR-Sport Protein Bars will have 20g of Protein and NO artificial sweeteners. YES!

As you may have noticed it’s part of a new line of products titled the “Sport Series.” Just exactly how big this new line will be or what products it will include are some burning questions we’d like to get some answers to.

What’s this Sport Series?

The only other supplement to bear the “Sport” series label is C4 Sport, a “toned down” version of the popular pre workout customers at Amazon and Wal-Mart. Back in the day, Cellucor also had a pure whey protein isolate powder named “Super Sport”, but that’s long been off the market.

As far as the protein bars go, each bar will contain 20g of Protein, and contains NO artificial colors, flavors and sweeteners. They’re also gluten free and GMO-free as well (if that’s something you’re concerned with).

Flavors Available

Here’s where we know Cellucor will deliver, FLAVORING! Cor-Performance Whey is always a well-beloved brand that continues to rank high among the Best Protein Powders around.

So, the big question is, what flavors will they come in?

Cinnamon Roll is one of the 4 exciting flavors that the new Cellucor COR-Sport Protein Bars will be available in. But how will they taste?!

As of this blog post, Cor-Sport Protein Bars will be available in packs of five and come in one of, four flavors:

  • Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough
  • Chocolate Peanut Butter
  • Cinnamon Roll
  • Chocolate Mint

When Cellucor put these COR-Sport Bars out, their parent company also released another brand of bars, FitJoy, which will be marketed more towards the general health market in other stores.

The bars share some similarities, like the cinnamon roll flavor being top-notch, and you can compare our reviews. Which one you want will come down to your preference in whether you want the gluten-free, non-GMO, all-natural-sweeteners used in FitJoy or not!

Takeaway

All we can say is, it’s about damn time, Cellucor! We’ve been expecting and awaiting this one, and they’ve finally released their own unique spin on the ultra-popular protein packed snack. It also joins the likes of Venture Bars in taking a much more natural spin on the protein bar and removing much of the junk fillers and artificial ingredients that still litter the vast majority of bars available.

The big question on our minds is can the texture match up to the excellent flavoring that Cellucor has become synonymous with?
