Blackstone Labs Hype Extreme: Long-Lasting Pumps & Focus

Blackstone Labs Hype Extreme

Hype Extreme is a brand new stimulant free pre workout from Blackstone labs that significantly enhances pumps and focus.

Blackstone Labs is one of the hardest hitting companies on the market with their line up of extremely aggressive stimulant-based pre workouts. They made waves back in June 2016, when they announced a new pre workout was in development, but this time it would be stimulant-free.

Well, after months of mounting anticipation, BSL recently released the profile for its highly-touted pre workout. Hype Extreme appears well worth the wait and it’s profile looks to improve pumps and focus in one fell swoop.

We’ve got the breakdown just ahead, but first, take a moment to check the best deal and sign up for alerts from PricePlow:

Hype Extreme Ingredients

BSL has packed five extremely well-dosed ingredients into its stimulant free pump pre workout. The first two ingredients included for better pumps, but it’s the last three that really brought our focus to the product.

Blackstone Labs Hype Extreme Ingredients

Hype Extreme contains a tremendous dose of Sodium Nitrate, making for some epic pumps during your workout!

  • HydroMax (2g)

HydroMax is a high-yield form of glycerol that contains 65% glycerol by mass. It’s the premier choice of glycerol in supplements when compared to Glycerol Monostearate (GMS) which only contains at most 25% glycerol by mass, with the rest being composed of saturated fats.[1]

    HydroMax

HydroMax is a high-yield glycerol that improves cellular hydration, endurance, and water-based pumps.

HydroMax basically turns your muscles into super absorbent sponges that soak up tons of water. This creates a state of “hyperhydration” in the muscle which results in markedly improved endurance[2,3] and sets the stage for some really nice water-based pumps.

Make sure to drink at least 16 oz of water with HydroMax, otherwise you’re not really getting the most bang for your buck from its water-retaining abilities!

  • Sodium Nitrate (1.5g)

Nitrates are one of the most powerful NO-boosting ingredients around. They are strong vasodilators[4,5] that increase blood flow via greater vasodilation and give one hell of a pump. Plus, nitrates also support heart health by reducing blood pressure and guarding against endothelial dysfunction.[6,7]

Sodium Nitrate is approximately 73% nitrate, so you’re getting roughly 1.095g nitrate — a HUGE serving that we’ve never encountered before in a product! Expect this to be VERY, VERY strong!

Aside from pumps, nitrates also boost exercise performance by lowering the oxygen cost of exercise and improving energy efficiency during workouts.[8,9]

This could be a next-generation nitrate salt worth trying, especially if it’s low-cost!

  • Rhodiola Rosea (300mg)

Blackstone Labs Hype Extreme Dust Extreme

Need to add a serious kick of energy to your pumps and focus? Stack BSL’s Dust Extreme alongside Hype Extreme.

Used for years in Ayurveda, Rhodiola rosea is an adaptogenic herb that helps the body deal with all varieties of physical, emotional, and psychological stressors. Aside from stress reduction, adaptogens like rhodiola greatly enhance endurance and alertness while lowering mental fatigue from stressful situations.[10]

Moreover, rhodiola increases cognitive function and memory due to its actions on the acetylcholine, dopamine, serotonin, and norepinephrine neurotransmitter systems.[11] Hype Extreme’s has standardized their extract to 3% rosavins, one of the potent bio-actives of rhodiola. Studies on rosavins note they enhance athletic performance and support glucose uptake in skeletal muscle.[12,13]

  • Alpha GPC (250mg)

Alpha GPC is one of the premier forms of choline on the market, along with Citicoline (CDP-Choline). It’s a choline-containing molecule that boosts production of the “learning neurotransmitter” acetylcholine.[14] Aside from elevating focus, Alpha GPC also improves power output, endurance, and post workout Growth Hormone (GH) levels.[15,16,17]

Note: The grade or “strength” of Alpha GPC isn’t disclosed. We don’t know if this ingredient is 250mg of actual Alpha GPC, or 250mg of 50% Alpha GPC (thus making it 125mg). Confirm with the manufacturer if concerned, and we will update this post if there is clarification.

  • Huperzine A (300mcg)

Blackstone Labs Hype Extreme Cotton Candy

Hype Extreme comes in two tantalizing flavors: Cotton Candy and Fruit Punch

Our last ingredient is also a powerful nootropic in Huperzine A, a.k.a. Toothed Club Moss. Huperzine is an incredibly effective inhibitor of acetylcholinesterase, the enzyme that degrades acetylcholine. Therefore, Huperzine extends the “life” of acetylcholine and indirectly boosts acetylcholine levels[18] — as opposed to Alpha GPC which directly increases levels of the potent neurotransmitter.

It’s also worth noting that Huperzine protects the brain against glutamine[19], a.k.a. “the neuron death molecule” and it may possibly generate new brain cells (making it neurogenerative).[20]

Flavors Available

BSL’s products are quite well known for their flavoring, and Hype Extreme doesn’t look to disappoint either. You can currently find it available in two flavors: Cotton Candy or Fruit Punch.

We’ve noticed these cotton candy flavors are getting really good lately, too!

Takeaway

Hype Extreme may be short on ingredients and scoop size, but it certainly packs quite the stim-free punch!

Touting the highest sodium nitrate dose we’ve seen thus far in the industry combined with HydroMax and a solid dose of focus boosters makes Hype Extreme a must try if you’re looking for a new stim-free pre workout or something to add into your stim-only pre workout.

This could be fantastic for those nighttime workouts when you want focus, but not the energy… but given that nitrate dose and the long-term pumps it will give, you might be better off using it earlier in the day so you can show off those guns – because these pumps are going to last all day long.
