Before today, we already had 5lbs of Dymatize Elite Gourmet on discount for $31, but today we also found the two-pounder for just $12.

What’s the deal with s’mores flavor?
So why are we seeing both s’mores flavors go on discount? Because they’re both expiring soon. But why are they expiring soon?
Because none of you big wimps out there are willing to risk it on some new flavors!
Not taking the plunge on a five pounder? I can see that. But 2lbs of s’mores? Come on, even if it was bad, you could still choke that down.
But it turns out that it’s not bad – reviews are very good
So I did some research, and it looks like the flavors are very good.
I was not let down at all. It’s a unique flavor, but they managed to get it down pretty good. You can taste the chocolate, you can taste the marshmallow, and you can even taste a bit of graham cracker.

not the greatest profile coming in at 6g carbs and only 21g protein, but fuuu they hit it pretty well. was very skeptical but you can definitely taste the graham cracker and the marshmallow. would buy again

So step it up folks, because this is nearly 50 grams of good name brand protein per dollar!
Note: in that first review, it’s so sad to see that ngcangey mentions protein was $36.99 for 5lbs, which was standard at the time. We have to fight for those prices nowadays!
The Ingredient ProfileOK, so maybe there is a reason to avoid this one: Elite Gourmet is Dymatize’s “lower tier” protein, with 1.5g of fat and 6g of carbs per serving in the s’mores flavors. So if you’re low-carbin’ it, you’ll want to stay away. We completely and openly trust Dymatize.
The stats per scoop:
- 125 calories, 15 from fat
- 21g protein, coming from a giant mix from the Whey protein matrix (whey protein concentrate, whey protein isolate, whey peptides) and the milk protein matrix (milk protein, containing micelular caseines & caseinates, calcium caseinates)
- 1.5g of fat, 0.5 of it being saturated
- 6g carbs, < 1g fiber, 0g sugar
21g per scoop is not the most impressive, and the cocoa + lower quality whey concentrate brings some of the carbs, but with this deal, you’re getting a lot of tasty protein for not a lot of money.
If you’re low on protein, not on a carb-restrictive diet, want something chocolatey, and aren’t a total wimp, this is one is a go!
