Can I Bring Supplements and Protein as Carry-On Luggage on an Airplane?

Happy Holidays from PricePlow!

Many people often ask if they can bring protein powders, creatine, vitamins, and other supplements in their carry-on luggage on an airplane.

The first bit of good news is that none of these powders are banned from the TSA’s “what can I bring” list.

The other good news is that this Christmas, I flew from LAX to Cleveland with the following all in my carry-on luggage with no search or hassles:

So if I can get that all onto an airplane with absolutely no problems, I’d say we’re good to go.

Note over a decade later: if you’re going to bring a full tub, expect it to get pulled out and scanned. Remove all full tubs from your carry-ons and put them through the scanner in their own tray. The dense powders look like liquids to some of the scanning machines.

Good luck with your 2009 goals!
